Leonard Yet Num Chow, 89, of Hilo died Jan. 6 at home. Born in Hilo, he was retired from Hawaiian Equipment and United Airlines, past president and member of the Hilo Chinese Cemetery Association and member of the Hilo Bon Dance Club. Services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by wife, Gertrude S. Chow of Hilo; son, Leonard Chow of Hilo; sisters, Margaret Mochizuki of Arizona, Blossom Lee of Las Vegas and Bette Chow of Honolulu; brother, Donald (Ethel) Chow of Honolulu; sister-in-law, Lily Chow of Hilo; nieces and nephews. William De-Perez, 92, of Hilo died Sept. 23, 2013 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo; he was a state bus driver and U.S. Army veteran. William Kauhane Malakaua, 64, of Mountain View died Jan. 22 in Kuwait City, Kuwait. Born in Hilo, he was an international security agent for Triple Canopy and retired Hawaii Army National Guard sergeant first class. Visitation 3-4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Numeriano Tangaro “Junior” Tampon Jr., 47, of Pahoa died Jan. 17. Born in Kahuku, Oahu, he was a retired heavy equipment operator.
